Born May 17, 1956 and considered one of the best fighters of all time, Ray Leonard burst onto the international scene by winning the light-welterweight gold medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

Sugar Ray Leonard is widely regarded as one of the best professional boxers of all time, winning world championships in five different weight classes and becoming the first fighter ever to earn more than $100 million in prize money.

While Leonard had the ability to deliver powerful punches, his success in the ring was largely attributed to his boxing IQ, footwork, and combination punching. He could effectively use his speed to overwhelm opponents and set up powerful shots, which often led to knockouts.
