The iconic red-and-white halved jersey became prominent during the famous ‘75/76 campaign when the R’s came within a point of lifting the First Division title – and was first worn in our away fixture versus Birmingham City on September 6th 1975.
The kit also became recognised in Europe the following season during QPR’s run to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup – Rangers sporting the strip in a 3-3 draw at Slovan Bratislava, considered by many to be one of our greatest-ever away performances.
Also appearing the following season, 1977/78, the famous offering was to be replaced by an all-red kit for the start of ‘78/79. It would, however, make two surprising and brief comebacks for away fixtures at Chelsea - one in 1979/80 and one in 1980/81.
Therefore, this season – as we celebrate the 45-year anniversary of the shirt – we’ve a stylish, modern remake of what must surely be one of the most popular and timeless QPR kits of all-time!
